Cryotherapy, Sydney
You get super cool! It’s fun, convenient and has a whole host of benefits
Cryotherapy is a type of healing treatment, safely using freezing temperatures for a short period of time. Physicians use cryosurgery to remove warts, or cryoablation where they apply liquid nitrogen to destroy abnormal cells like tumours or cancer. Cryo can also be immersed in ice baths or a nitrogen facial known as a “frotox”.
Whole-body cryotherapy, offered at Feel Good, involves standing in a cryo-chamber in temperatures between -110°C and -170°C for two to three minutes. The body is immersed in the cold air inside the chamber, while the head remains safe outside the top of the chamber.
What Are Whole Body Cryotherapy Benefits?
There are various health benefits to be gained from a mere few minutes in the cryotherapy chamber. Not only does cryo enhance wellbeing, but it also stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
Reduced Inflammation
Revitalise Skin
Assist Weight Loss
Elevate Mood
Immune System Boosting

How Does Whole-Body Cryotherapy Work?
The cryo-chamber blasts cool nitrogen which makes up 78% of the air that we breathe. The abrupt change of temperature instantly sends the body into fight or flight mode. The body’s blood vessels constrict and direct the blood away from the extremities and towards the core instead to protect the organs. The immune system is then stimulated to cause the internal body temperature to rise. This promotes a healthy and efficient immune system which decreases the intensity and frequency of future colds.
Anti-inflammatory and oxygen proteins are boosted from the increased blood circulation, and this also flushes out the excess white blood cells which boosts the metabolic rate. After a full-body cryotherapy session, the body’s blood vessels dilate and blood rich in oxygen and endorphins flow through the body, leaving you feeling energetic and revitalised. A metabolic reaction occurs to bring the body back to its normal temperature, and this boost calorie burn following the treatment.

FAQ About Cryotherapy, Sydney
Titan Cryo Cabin from CTN (Cryo Tech Nordic)
Cryo uses extreme dry cold air and doesn’t make the skin wet. You don’t need to shower before or after treatment.
Two to three minutes is enough to reap the extensive list of benefits of cryotherapy treatment. First time we start you at 2 minutes, and then we increase the time over the next 2 sessions so that your skin gets used to the treatment.
If it is for weight management, it’s recommended to begin with ten sessions in succession for the best results (within 2-3 weeks), and then our knowledgeable staff will assess the way forward. If it is for pain or other conditions we say to try to do it three times in two weeks, then reassess after that.
Feel Good Nation provides clients with dry socks, slippers, and gloves.
The cryo-chamber is in its own private room, and the chamber door is held shut with a magnet, so it’s never locked. Your head is raised above the chamber in room temperature air. You can exit at any time if you feel uncomfortable, which so far no one has.
